West Las Vegas, Mora Avenue, and Pecos Head Start Centers:
Registration is ongoing at each Head Start site. Children must be three years old by August 31, 2001. The first day of classes for income-eligible children will be on August 29, 2001. Classes will begin on September 5, 2001, for income-eligible children. Parents must bring their children to school on the morning of either August 29 or September 5, with transportation being provided in the afternoon if needed. Food services will begin on the morning of August 29. West Las Vegas Middle School:
New students must bring social security numbers, transcripts, and immunization records. Parents/guardians must accompany their children to registration on Monday, August 20, 2001, as follows:
- 6th Graders: 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
- 7th Graders: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- 8th Graders: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

West Las Vegas High School:
High school students new to the district may register on Thursday, Friday, and Monday, August 9th, 10th and 13th, 2001. Orientation and schedule pick-up for current WLV High School students will be held by class at the high school gymnasium as per the schedule listed below. Parents of freshmen must accompany their students to orientation, while other parents are encouraged but not required to do so.
- Freshmen Class: 8:00 a.m. - 11:40 a.m.
- Sophomore Class: 1:00 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.
- Junior Class: 1:45 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
- Senior Class: 2:30 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.

Any student enrolling at West Las Vegas Schools for the first time must bring his/her immunization Record and birth certificate to registration. State Department of Education Regulation 76-16 and local school board policy require that all students be properly immunized. Parents are responsible for maintaining their children's immunization records and providing records to the school district. School districts must maintain records of the immunization status of every student and report to the Public Health Division the names of parents/guardians who fail to comply with the law.
