Once again, we are happy to report another successful and progressive month at ZiaLink. Thanks to our 9-member team, additional data lines, customer feedback and the successful launch of zialink.com, our subscriber base is at an all-time high!

This has resulted in new services and technologies coming your way. For instance, On Wednesday, Oct 24 thru Friday the 26th Qwest will be installing NEW clear channel point-to-point T1s to Albuquerque. This means faster Internet access! We have been informed that during this process there may short periods of interrupted or degraded service. If you are experiencing problems during this time, hang in there. This upgrade is free to you and will be worth the wait!

Also, the ZiaLink team is very excited to be marketing a new, unique technology that will result in a speed increase of nearly 7 times while browsing and receiving mail. The service will only cost an additional $6/mo and requires a simple program to be installed on your system. It will be available at the end of November, and we are expecting a tremendous response, so if you would like to reserve an account early, please respond to this letter with your intent.

Our relief fundraiser is doing great! So far Las Vegans have contributed over $3600 to our Las Vegas Cares fund. Special thanks to KNMX and the First National Bank of Las Vegas for their support. You can still make a donation until the end of this month. Call 454-8454 for details.

Summer is almost over, but things are still heating up at ZiaLink. Here is a summary of happenings this month:

We have added more phone lines in anticipation of continued growth. We are now up to 10 T1s, more than any other provider in town! We want to avoid a situation where you get busies. We continue to maintain modem to user ratios WAY under the national average. Our presence at the People Faire last month was a success. Thank you to all you who dropped by and gave us your kind words. Now visit us at the Health Fair on Saturday, September 8th at Wilson Complex from 8AM to 4PM. We have loads of useful information regarding healthy computing. We will also be giving away T-shirts and lanyards to new signups and long-time customers. We will also be having drawings for the above and free months of Internet access. Bring a friend who isn't with ZiaLink and we will give them an excellent "new customer" deal plus a bonus for you!

Many of you have reported faster connect speeds this month. This is due to a recent firmware upgrade to our modems. We are always looking for ways to provide fast, stable connections to our service. More improvements are scheduled for this fall!

We are happy to report that our system administrators have proactively protected us from some of the more damaging denial of service attacks this month.

We now take American Express! Credit Card payments are simple, and you never have to worry about forgetting your bill. Call 454-8454, ext 10 to start you billing to credit card. We also accept Visa and Master card, and will have Discover by the end of August.
